Chapter by Chapter’s Blogoversary Celebration Week #4 – An Ode To Authors, Publisher Request Info, & Make It Rain Books G!veaway!
Welcome to Week #4 of our Blogoversary Celebration!
This week’s blogoversary we are celebrating publishers and authors!
We all know that without them, we wouldn’t be able to read the books we loved in the past, love today, and will love in the future!
So here’s a little poem we’ve written for all you wonderful authors!
An Ode To Authors:
For all the different places
your books take us to explore…
For all the different cliff hangers
that have us crying for more…
For all the various characters
you create for us to adore…
For the different situations
that affects us to the core…
For allowing us the platform
to express just how we feel…
For tweeting “hi”, and “how are you”
and for keeping it very real…
For keeping our imaginations alive
with the different stories from you…
From us to you, we want to say
thank you for all you do…
A question that comes up quite a bit from our followers is:
How do I contact publishers for books I’m interested in reading?
It’s quite simple! Go to the publisher’s website, look under contacts, and look for the contact info there!
The next popular question would be:
Ok, I’ve got a contact, what do I say?
Well, first and foremost, make sure you have a decent following. We wouldn’t suggest reaching out to a publishers until you’ve got at least 300 followers. So until then, how do you find the followers? Explore the blogoverse! There are tons of book bloggers out there. Visit them! Join weekly meme’s! Host giveaways! Join some tours!
Once you’ve got your number and you’re ready to send your email, you’re going to want to include:
An intro to yourself – like blog name, what you review, etc.
Give ‘em your stats! – monthly visitors, monthly pageviews, how many followers do you have and through which social network.
What book are you looking to read for review? – Don’t ask for the world. 1-2 books is a good start until you’ve established a relationship with your contact, and you’ve proved that you are a pretty consistent blogger.
Tell ‘em why you feel this book would be a fit for your blog and your followers!
And finally, thank them for their time.
And that’s it folks! Short, sweet, and to the point. Easy, peasy right!
This is the “Make it Rain Books” giveaway addition!
Why? Because all the books provided in this week’s giveaway was
from the very generous Raincoast Books! <33333
