Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff Back To School Blog Tour – Interview and Giveaway

Thanks for stopping by for our Tour Stop for

the Back to School Blog Tour for

Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff!

Today, we have author, Allen Zadoff, answer a few back to school
questions about the main character, Boy Nobody!

Be sure to enter the giveaway found at the end of the post!

Boy Nobody is the perennial new kid in school, the one few notice and nobody thinks much about. He shows up in a new high school, in a new town, under a new name, makes few friends and doesn’t stay long. Just long enough for someone in his new friend’s family to die — of “natural causes.” Mission accomplished, Boy Nobody disappears, and moves on to the next target.

When his own parents died of not-so-natural causes at the age of eleven, Boy Nobody found himself under the control of The Program, a shadowy government organization that uses brainwashed kids as counter-espionage operatives. But somewhere, deep inside Boy Nobody, is somebody: the boy he once was, the boy who wants normal things (like a real home, his parents back), a boy who wants out. And he just might want those things badly enough to sabotage The Program’s next mission.

Boy Nobody (Boy Nobody #1) by Allen Zadoff
Publication Date:  June 11, 2013
Publisher:  Little, Brown & CO BYR

Available for Purchase:

1 – How does Boy Nobody deal with first day of school jitters?

Simple. He doesn’t have them. Boy Nobody is trained to fit in to all situations. He’s not burdened with needing to be popular or even caring what anyone thinks. His life is a mission, and that mission is to get close to a mark so he can assassinate their parents who have somehow betrayed our country. So Boy Nobody is never worrying about making friends, finding a girlfriend, making the team, or fitting into a clique. He has ultimate freedom. Conversely, he doesn’t get any of the benefits of having friends.  It’s lonely being a teen assassin for the government.

2 – What is Boy Nobody’s favorite school subject and why?

Boy Nobody finished all of high school in two years when he was 12 years old, so he’s never learning anything new in school, he’s just remembering his lessons from years before. If he had to choose a favorite subject, he’d choose history. He’s fascinated by power and its impact on societies past and present.

3 – What must-have objects does Boy Nobody have with him during school hours?

Boy Nobody has two categories of devices: weapons and communications.  His main communication device is a regular iPhone with a super secret operating system that blows IOS7 away. The secret OS gives him access to secure servers and hidden apps. For example, he has an app that can read the computer inside any car, unlock the doors, and start the engine. That’s very helpful when you’re making a quick escape.

His weapons are similarly “normal” on the surface, deadly underneath. In Boy Nobody (Book #1), he has a weaponized pen. One click is coma. Two clicks is death. If he taps your skin with the point of the pen, that’s it for you. But his main and most important weapon is himself, his physical training and a mental and emotional toughness that allows him to navigate through the world.
