Brusenna thought it was finished.
She defeated the Dark Witch, saving the Haven Witches from imprisonment and death. She found love and a place to belong.
She was wrong.
Haven is not the sanctuary it appears to be. Even love is in danger of slipping away like water through cupped hands.
Some things can’t be saved.
A new threat merges with the old as the Witches’ dark history begins to catch up with them. Only Brusenna knows the extent of the danger and how to stop it, though doing so might cost her everything.
Including her life.
Will Brusenna be required to make the ultimate sacrifice?

Greatest thing you learned at school
From precollege:
- I didn’t want to join the cool kids if they became cool by bullying others.
- Judge people based on their actions, not their appearance or reputation.
- You can push yourself so hard you burn out.
College:
- Learning how to research. There’s power that comes with knowing where to go when you need answers.
- Ask questions until you ‘get’ it.
- I’m the first member of my family to receive a bachelor’s degree, which taught me that I can do hard things.
- You adopt the attitudes and behaviors of those around you, so chose the kind of friends that encourage you to become a better person, not the other way around.
What do you feel is the most significant
change since The Witch Song?
EVERYTHING is different. Chocolate tastes better. The sunlight seems brighter. My whites always come out of the washer WHITER.
Okay, not really. I’m still the same person—I have the same friends, I live in the same house, I like the same things. So my day to day life hasn’t changed much. Instead of spending time trying to find an agent, I work on marketing or scheduling things like signings/school visits.
Really, the most significant thing is that I can move forward with my career instead of feeling stuck waiting for something to break loose. Now I’m writing books, knowing full well they’ll be published. It’s a different feeling, a different mindset.
Also, there are more pressure/restrictions after you’re published. You have deadlines and people waiting for your books. You have less time to write them, but people expect the same level, if not more so, of quality.
About the Author:
Amber Argyle grew up with three brothers on a cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains. She spent hours riding horses, roaming the mountains, and playing in her family’s creepy barn. This environment fueled her imagination for writing high fantasy.
She has worked as a short order cook, janitor, and staff member in a mental institution. All of which has given her great insight into the human condition and has made for some unique characters.
She received her bachelor’s degree in English and Physical Education from Utah State University.
