Ember Miller and Chase Jennings are ready to stop running. After weeks spent in hiding as two of the Bureau of Reformation’s most wanted criminals, they have finally arrived at the safe house, where they hope to live a safe and quiet existence.

And all that’s left is smoking ruins.

Devastated by the demolition of their last hope, Ember and Chase follow the only thing left to them—tracks leading away from the wreckage. The only sign that there may have been survivors.

With their high profile, they know they can’t stay out in the open for long. They take shelter in the wilderness and amidst the ruins of abandoned cities as they follow the tracks down the coast, eventually finding refugees from the destroyed safe house. Among them is someone from Chase’s past—someone he never thought he’d see again.

Banding together, they search for a place to hide, aiming for a settlement a few of them have heard about…a settlement that is rumored to house the nebulous organization known as Three. The very group that has provided Ember with a tiny ray of hope ever since she was first forced on the run.

Three is responsible for the huge network of underground safe houses and resistance groups across the country. And they may offer Ember her only chance at telling the world her story.

At fighting back.

MaryAnn-2013Three (Article 5 #3) by Kristen Simmons was the perfect way to end a series!  It had everything that a reader would want in finale.  Suspense, action, romance, all ends tied up…I’m telling you, I felt as though I were on an emotional roller coaster ride.  Every step of the way I was still in fear of Ember and Chase in being caught.

Favorite characters from their adventure make appearances, and it is not all smiles, hugs and happily ever afters, my friends.  Seriously, there were much tears and sadness.  There were various parts in the book where my heart bleed while my tears fell.

Being a huge fan of this series, I had a lot of emotional investment in this story and in the characters.  For those of you that know what I mean, you’ll completely understand when something terrible happens to one of the characters that you lurve.

Don’t even begin to think that I’ll divulge that information.  If you want to know what I’m talking about, and more importantly the WHO (plural!!), don’t hesitate to read this book.

Three by Kristen Simmons picks up near where book 2 ends.  Nothing new really.  Ember and Chase are still on the run and the search for the safe houses and survivors is still on the agenda.  Being listed as THE most wanted criminals in the eyes of BR (Bureau of Reformation), hiding and being invisible proves to be difficult.

As they continue to locate the remaining safe houses, pasts come back to haunt them, and the fact that Three exists is becoming more and more of a reality, the more they see and learn.

Trust is given the ultimate test in this final installment in the Article 5 series.  People that you want to trust surprise you, and the ones that you know are completely untrustworthy, has you believing in humanity all over again.

Author, Kristen Simmons, goes above and beyond in her writing and her storytelling skills.  You can’t help but feel the fears that the characters feel, crave the safety and freedom that the characters desire.  The placement of the characters and the events that transpire throughout the book were done to perfection.  If there was one thing that I could change in the book, it would be…nothing.  HONESTLY!  I, personally believe, that this Three was perfect.  Ember is still her clumsy self, tripping over her feet, but after 2 books of witnessing that, I just came to expect it this time around.

If you haven’t started this series, I really, really suggest you start ASAP!  Especially since all three books are now OUT and you can read non-stop!  Once you start, you’re not gonna wanna stop!
