Heaven Sent (Falling Angels #3)

Readers who devoured Boyfriend From Hell and Earth Angel will be captivated by the third book in the Falling Angels Saga.

As summer break for Glendale Union high begins, heartsick Megan awaits Guy’s return while struggling to control her emerging abilities. Love is in the air, but can the new loves in Megan, Maudrina, Suze and Aunt’ Jaz’s life be trusted? Nothing is what it seems. Meanwhile, the Satanists are set to hatch their most diabolical scheme ever, and if it comes to pass, Satan may finally win out.

Megan has precious little time to unravel the cryptic message hidden in the riddle she received at the end of Earth Angel. If she doesn’t, the life of someone most dear to her will be lost forever, and Megan may yet find herself living in HELL.

Earth Angel (Falling Angels #2)

Just because Megan Barnett recently defeated Satan, has a fantastic new best friend, and has won the love of deliciously
handsome, Guy Matson, doesn’t mean her troubles are over. Far from it. For Megan doesn’t realize it, but in her possession is a powerful weapon, a weapon sought after by both angels and demons and everything in between. They will do ANYTHING to get it.

In E. Van Lowe’s humorous, romantic and thrilling sequel to Boyfriend From Hell, Megan winds up in a gripping life or death battle to save herself, the boy she loves, and all of mankind from unthinkable evil.

Boyfriend From Hell (Falling Angels #1)

Fifteen year-old Megan Barnett and her single mom, Suze, have a special relationship—they are friends, close friends, who do almost everything together.

“But come on, guys, she’s my mother… Can I really tell her that while we’re snuggled up on the sofa watching Spider Man Three, I’m secretly undressing James Franco with my eyes? Of course not…”

The special bond takes a turn for the worse when Suze decides to start dating again. She hasn’t had a man in her life since Megan’s father left ten years ago.

Enter two mysterious young men, Megan’s new classmate, sinfully attractive bad boy, Guy Matson, and the dangerously handsome art dealer, Armando. Before long Megan and Suze both wind up in steamy relationships.

But neither of the handsome pair is quite what he seems. In fact, one of them is Satan, with his sights set on a new bride. Megan has precious little time to figure out how to stop him. If she doesn’t, either Megan or Suze are quite literally going to HELL.

Top Fav’s with E. Van Lowe

You’re home alone, there’s a fire!  Top 3 things you’d grab and save from the fire.

My wife, my ipad, the fire extinguisher.  Hey, maybe I can put out the fire.

Top 3 Favorite authors (dead or alive) and why:

J.D. Salinger; J.K. Rowling; Stephen King.  Nine Stories by J. D. Salinger is such an odd yet beautiful book.  It taught me to write about the oddities of character from their own pov.  Rowling is probably the greatest author of our time.  Who else could write books that speak to both young and old without ever alienating either group.  And I feel like I grew up as a writer reading Stephen King.  From Salem’s Lot to Misery to The Body (The short story that became the film Stand By Me), the interesting characters of Stephen King were my bedrock for creating character, his stories my bedrock for creating story.

Top 3 Favorite snacks while writing and why:

Nuts, carrots, pretzels.  I love to eat, but I don’t love the idea of getting fat.  These are somewhat healthy snacks.

Top 3 Favorite books that inspired you to write and why:

No book inspired me to write.  I was way too young when I started writing to think that Horse on A Houseboat made me want to become a writer.  But three books that have inspired me when I was shaping my craft were: Salem’s Lot; Raga Six, Sirens of Titan.  They all three inspired me for the same reason—I couldn’t put them down.  I have known for a long time that I want to write page-turners.  I keep trying.

Top 3 favorite songs to listen to while writing and why:

I don’t usually listen to music while I work.  There are artists I listen to to give me a feel for my character’s emotional journey.  They are: Taylor Swift; & Katy Perry & Maroon Five.

Top 3 favorite techniques to overcome writers block and why:

I don’t ever have writer’s block.  I don’t believe in it, so I can’t get it.  There are days when I don’t feel inspired. Or can’t get going.  On these days I: watch scenes from favorite films or good films; read passages from my current favorite authors and try to see if I can be as compelling as they are… and if I’m still not inspired, I accept that today I may write shit, but I am going to write something.  Then I put my hands on the keyboard and start typing.

Top 3 musicians/bands/groups and why:

Music for me is like breathing.  I have lots of favorites from lots of genres and many eras.  There are about 50 musicians that I truly LOVE. Thelonious Monk; Bruce Springsteen; Kanye West.  Monk because he dared to be different and won.  His music is so strange and yet it’s beautiful.  Springsteen and West because their works are filled with lines or phrases that are charged with emotion.

Top 3 favorite movies of all time and why:

The Godfather, Aliens, Terminator Two.  I love these films because when I’m flipping channels if I discover one is on I will stop and watch until it is over.  They are my equivalent to page turners.  You can’t put them down.

Top 3 favorite animated movies and why:

The Lion King, Toy Story, Toy Story III:  I happened to be working as a producer at Disney when The Lion King came out.  It was the most ambitious thing Disney had done since Fantasia.  They screened it for us employees one night on the lot. At the time the popular Disney image had lost some of its lustre.  At the end of the screening we all knew this movie would change everything.  Disney was back.  One year later Disney unveiled its collaboration with Pixar.  Toy Story is one of the greatest animated films ever made.  That movie set the table for the animated films of today.  And Toy Story III—how can you not love a villain who smells like strawberries?

Top 3 favorite movie moments and why:

Opening scene in Pulp Fiction with the couple in the diner;
2nd scene sequence in Pulp Fiction with Sam Jackson and John Travolta; Opening scene ( wedding sequence) of The Godfather:  If you read my books you will notice how much I like writing clever (I  hope) dialogue to move my stories along.  Quentin Tarantino is the master of compelling yet humorous dialogue.  The opening of The Godfather is brilliant because you meet 15-20 characters in a short period of time, and yet you never feel overwhelmed by them.  It’s narrated by this really nice, sweet guy who turns out to be the movie’s monster—Michael Corleone.  It’s brilliant.

Top 3 favorite actors/actresses and why:

Sam Jackson; Denzel Washington; Al Pacino.  They’re brilliant, that’s why.

Natalie Portman; Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep.  I’m partial to Portman and Sarandon together because they made one of my all time favorite films—Anywhere But Here.  Why Meryl Streep? Anyone who can play a convincing Julia Child and Margaret Thatcher in the same year is awesome.

Top 3 favorite gadgets and why:

Iphone; ipad; ipod  because I can’t live without them.

Top 3 favorite dream destinations and why:

I have been just about everywhere in the world I’ve wanted to go.  Maui is my favorite vacation destination in the world. I go almost every year and can’t wait to get back.  It is breath-takingly beautiful, relaxing and yet historic. Florence, Italy.  I love Italy and really love Rome, but  the Medici dynasty of Florence and how much of its history is still preserved there is awe inspiring.  The city is beautiful, romantic and through its control of the Popes, had a stranglehold on the world I find awe-inspiring.   Egypt. I have never been to Africa.  Egypt is one of the most prominent countries in the history of Africa and the world.  The Cairo museum contains all the important world artifacts that weren’t stolen by western museums after WWII.  I’m sure it’s a fabulous place to visit.
