What do you like most about the Lux series?

Here’s what Gabby has to say:

Gabby-2013

There are way too many things I love about the Lux series to limit everything down to one factor. The Lux series is (simply put) about aliens. Not little green men or E.T. aliens but instead crazily attractive aliens who are literally hot. I’m not just talking about physical appearances either. The aliens in Lux—the Luxen—can turn their bodies into pure light and can mark a human with just their touch. This is what initially brings Katie close to Damon.

Damon who is what makes the Lux series as amazing as it is with his witty banter, sexy demeanor and arrogance. He’s a total jerk (at first) but we end up falling in love with him anyways. The romance between him and Katie is half of what makes the series great. The other half is the non-stop action against government officials who know about the Luxen’s existence and the big bad aliens who want nothing more than to destroy them.

You can read our reviews of the books in this series here:

#1: Obsidian
#2: Onyx
#3: Opal
#4: Origin

Want to read the LUX series on your ereader? Each book is sold individually in e-format

Lux: Beginnings is available now at your local Target, as well as bookstores, and Opposition will be available everywhere on August 5, 2014.

Don’t miss Opposition, the fifth and final book in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s bestselling Lux series. Also included only in the print edition is Shadows, the prequel novella never before seen in print! “A thrilling ride from start to finish,” says RT Book Reviews.

Opposition

Opposition
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can’t believe Daemon stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

Shadows
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. To him, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated.
Dawson can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or stop a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

Lux Beginnings cover

Obsidian
There’s an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he’s hot…until he opens his mouth. He’s infuriating. Arrogant. Stabworthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bullseye. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Onyx
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

Lux Consequences cover

Opal
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing alien hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Origin
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?

I think I love Daemon as a part of the Lux series rather than the alien aspect. 2nd thing I love would be Katy and Daemon’s hilarious banter, and their sweet relationship. Then, comes the awesome alien aspect, like origins like Archer and Luc, and Arums like Hunter. The Lux series is an incredible story world where Daemon not only turned out to be the perfect, ever-confident alien but an amazing boyfriend. Guys like him are hard to find, even in a book, and I am seriously impressed by how much Daemon captures my attention. His first impression…not so good. But as the story progressed, I loved seeing Katy understand and fall for Daemon Black, the guy who pushed feelings away until he met his kitten. And just as a side note, he brings Katy cookies! Do I need to say any more about why he makes the perfect beau? And well, I like the whole of the Lux series because it has come together beautifully but I also love how Katy adapts every time her life changes drastically. She accepted Daemon’s true nature, being a hybrid, losing friends…all with time and grace (sort of). So I love love love the humorous act between Daemon and Katy, and that among everything else has kept me returning to the series

Like others I don’t like just any one thing about the series. I enjoy the worldbuilding, the twisty plots, the character growth, the romance development and even the snappy dialogue.

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

I love the way Katy and Daemon interact you know they really love each other and would do anything for their loved ones.. Daemon being the more capable because of his ‘extra’ abilities. Luv the characters and hope that everything works out well for humanity and all that is good especially Daemon and Katy.

Awe inspiring the way this series builds up only read Obsidian as yet but have the Opal and Onyx books and if the story progresses at this rate I’m going to be breathless and my heart might never slow down. Love Katy and Daemon’s relationship even though he has a lot to explain about why everyone is either trying to kill or capture him and now Katy. I look forward to reading more of the series.. so I had better get reading! Thanks for everything Ms. Armentrout I look forward to many more books of this calibre thank you. :)

I love this story because it is a mix of action, suspense, drama, and romance. Daemon and Kat together is perfect and how they risk everything for each other, is beautiful. I like that there is a mystery to all of this, and in the end how they all bind together, siblings and friends to try and stop their common enemy.

I have only read Obsidian but have Opal and Onyx love the relationship between Daemon and Katy even if he’s still a loveable jerk at times.. pity about Dee:( Daemon loves and protects everyone in his circle now that he has Katy in his life has caused problems but it will be alright I hope for his and human races. thank you Ms Armentrout for this fast paced heart speeding(mine) breathless start to the LUX series. With all the intrigues, twisting and turning in it, it is a change from most books out there you have created a new ‘Light casting by marking Katy’ with to show she’s part of Daemon’s circle now. I don’t know if that makes sense or not I hope so. I look forward to reading the rest of the ‘Lux’ series and many more of your books.:) Thank you.

My friend kept going on and on about the Lux series, but as soon as I heard the word ‘alien,’ I wanted no part of it. I kept picturing little green men. Ack. Not my thing, to say the least. Months later, I was in a serious book funk, couldn’t find anything to suit my needs, when I found myself reading a sample of Obsidian. Needless to say, I was hooked. I devoured the entire series, what was out, at least, in just two days. Then I was mad when I had to wait for Origin to be released. I was so impatient.

Daemon, without a doubt, is what makes this series so great. I was put-off by him at first, thought he was a huge jerk, but it didn’t take long to win me over. He’s one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. He’s charming and endearing and hilarious. He’s also protective of not only his friends and family, but of Kat as well. He’s stubborn and strong-willed and, yes, at time a total jerk, but you can’t help but adore him.

Daemon and Kat’s relationship is what really makes this series so special. Even before they became a couple, their banter was amusing to read.

I love that they keep me up all night reading. When a book is so good you keep saying “One more chapter and I’ll go to sleep” but don’t. I love the unique plot. The characters and how they interact with each other. Just everything is wonderful. I’ll be sad when it finally ends. Thank you to Jennifer for continually giving us amazing books.

I started with Shadows and I was not happy with the way it ended, but I’m glad I did as opposed to reading it later. It gave some additional insight to Obsidian and why Daemon acted the way he did. He and Katy are just so cute together and have been through so much. (I also enjoy Dee.) I certainly hope they get their HEA! The whole series has been amazing and I am on pins and needles waiting for Opposition!! Thanks a million for the giveaway!

I haven’t had the chance to read the Lux series yet because I hate reading anything that involves aliens; however I have read practically all of Jennifer Armentrout’s books and let me say they are all amazing. My friends have read the Lux series and they say the series is a must read. Since its Jennifer Armentrout’s book i’ll take a chance to read it and maybe i’ll be turned to liking books with aliens in it.

I haven’t had the pleasure of reading any of this series yet. But the reasons why I want to and why I love the sound of it would be because the author seems to have a magic pull on all the readers I see who are in love with this series. Knowing that Jennifer has captured so many and seeing their reactions makes me want to jump on the Daemon train too. Who wouldn’t, it looks and sounds amazingly addictive and worth every minute!

Hello! What I love absolutely the most about the Lux series is its ability to captivate readers who might otherwise have never read it. I’m talking about myself and probably many others. I was NEVER one who was remotely interested in stories about aliens or any stories really that were sci-fi. This view of mine changed when I first picked up Obsidian. My friend had reccomended it to me, knowing full well I didn’t like sci-fi books, but I have her to thank for introducing me to the Lux series and it’s array of absolutely beautifully crafted characters-I have Jennifer L. Armentrout to thank for being the author whose books converted me into a mega-lover of all things sci-fi and alien related. Every aspect of the books in the Lux series are absolutely amazing and it’s ability to create such a change in my reading habits is one of te greatest aspects of the series that I love.

What a loaded question! What I like most about the Lux series is the characters. Each one has a different personality, and in like how things aren’t perfect. Like Katy’s friendship with Daemon’s sister, they never easily mend it, and I liked that bc it was more realistic. A lot of times in YA they just mend what’s broken by the end of the book, everything is so clean. Not so with this series! I love that. Plus, Daemon and Katy’s banter is amazing. I just love Daemon too, ok! Lol :D
