Only Bauer Grant can pull off gorgeous while dead. But staying dead is another thing entirely. When he wakes up at his own funeral, the town of Mystique calls it a miracle, until it happens again. Something is bringing the residents of Mystique back to life, but what? Presley Caine finds herself caught up in the mystery when Bauer asks her to visit him. Presley can’t figure out why the most popular guy in school is so drawn to her. And when Bauer is kidnapped soon after, she looks to Bauer’s brooding best friend Sam, whose dad works for the powerful Mystique military base, for answers. In her quest to discover the truth, Presley’s relationship with Sam deepens, her feelings for Bauer are tested, and it becomes clear that her own mysterious past is somehow connected to these strange events. But is she strong enough to handle the truth when it is finally revealed?

Describe your book in 140 characters or less (like a Tweet)
When what you wish for comes true and yet it’s not what you really wanted because there is something bigger happening. Plus magic and love.
What was your inspiration for writing this book? Was it in a dream? A thought while taking a walk?
I was driving in the car with my husband and we were brainstorming YA ideas and I thought, you know what hasn’t been done yet… and there it was.
Tell us about the main character(s).
Presley is strong and yet fragile. She pushes people away and keeps to herself because she’s felt alone for so long she doesn’t expect it to change. And yet she wants something more. She wants the happy-go-lucky life which is why she’s so drawn to Bauer. But what she really wants is to feel needed and loved, you know, like everyone does.
Do you have a favorite quote or specific part in the book that you really love?
I love how Sam comes out of nowhere. When I was writing this story I truly believed that Presley and Bauer were going to end up together. And, yeah. Sam changed all that.
Was there a specific part in the book that you had an especially difficult time writing? If so, why?
I hate writing scary scenes!! There is one scene in the book where I had to wait until it was morning before I could work on it or edit it. It freaked me out!! Or, rather, the character freaked me out…
What sort of projects do you have going on right now. Any new books coming out?
I am currently working on KATE TRIUMPH, Book 2. And a Women’s Fiction novel as well. KATE should be done first, however. (If all goes well.)
It was great having you on the blog today! We hope you’ll decide to stop by again someday, and we wish you much success!!
Thanks for having me!! =)
