Bryn is back for her senior year at the Institute for Excellence, also known as shape-shifting dragon school. She isn’t sure which is scarier, the life-force sucking dragons stalking campus or the fact that she’s officially betrothed to Jaxon, a guy who will never love her. Not that she could ever love him, either… That’s just ridiculous.

Senior year should be fun. Her parents are alive, she’s finally fitting in, and she’s learning how to be a Medic. But what’s with Jaxon giving her strange looks? He runs hot and cold, and he doesn’t even have the excuse of being a hybrid fire-and-ice-breathing dragon like her. One minute they’re having a great time and the next, she wants to blast a fireball at his head. The marriage contract of doom looms over them–unless this match not made in heaven kindles a flame…

Thanks so much for taking the time and spending time with us here at Chapter by Chapter!

Thank you for having me.

Describe your book in 140 characters or less (like a Tweet)

Bryn finds out she’s a shape-shifting dragon when flames shoot out of her mouth on her 16th birthday.

What was your inspiration for writing this book?  Was it in a dream? A thought while taking a walk?

I’ve always loved dragons. I knew I wanted to write shifters. It seemed like the perfect fit. I had no idea I’d the story in my head would take five books to tell. My latest release, Burning Bright is the last book in the Going Down in Flames series.

Tell us about the main character(s).

Bryn is a snarky, kick-ass chick who doesn’t take crap from anyone. And she can shape shift into a hybrid Red/Blue dragon which means she can breathe fire and ice.

Do you have a favorite quote or specific part in the book that you really love?

I love the moment when Bryn is first attracted to her frenemy Jaxon.

He laughed, his eyes sparkled, his hair was kind of tussled, and with his tie undone he looked so much more normal…still devastatingly handsome and undeniably hot… but normal. Bryn froze. Wait. Did I just think Jaxon is hot?

Where did that thought come from?

“What’s wrong?” Jaxon asked.

“Nothing.” Nope. Nothing was wrong. She did not think Jaxon was hot. I do not.

Was there a specific part in the book that you had an especially difficult time writing?  If so, why?

Ending this series was very difficult. Writing the end of this final book was the hardest for me. I feel better knowing that I plan to write a prequel about her parents next, but it was hard to let go.

What sort of projects do you have going on right now.  Any new books coming out?

I write shape shifting dragons, and romantic comedies. I’m working on the next book in the Dating Dilemma series and I’m writing the prequel to this series which is the story of how Bryn’s parents abandoned everything they’d ever known and faced banishment for true love.

It was great having you on the blog today!  We hope you’ll decide to stop by again someday, and we wish you much success!!
