Thanks so much for taking the time and spending time with us here at Chapter by Chapter!
Describe your book in 140 characters or less (like a Tweet)
hockey player + 1 figure skater + 1 fake social media account + 1 too many relationships = ALL LACED UP!
What was your inspiration for writing this book? Was it in a dream? A thought while taking a walk?
I’ve always wanted to write a hockey player/figure skater romance. I was a figure skater most of my life, and therefore was around a ton of hockey players, too. It’s a natural match!
Tell us about the main character(s).
Pierce Miller is a superstar hockey player and teenage web celeb. He’s completely gorgeous and confident. Lia Bailey is a shy but talented figure skater. She’s been through some trauma, but has a huge heart.
Do you have a favorite quote or specific part in the book that you really love?
I think my favorite part is when Lia goes out with Pierce for the first time. They go out to eat, and he builds a tabletop hockey rink out of coffee creamer tubs and sugar packets, with stirrers for sticks and a straw wrapper for a puck. It allows them to have fun while getting to know each other. And of course, the date ends in a kiss!
Was there a specific part in the book that you had an especially difficult time writing? If so, why?
Some of the scenes where Pierce and Lia were messaging each other back and forth were kind of tough. It took some work to get the pacing right and keep the scenes moving, but my editor helped a ton!
What sort of projects do you have going on right now. Any new books coming out?
I’m currently planning out the next book in the Breakaway series! Keep an eye out for Pierce’s friend and teammate, Luke Jackson, who will be getting his own book soon!
It was great having you on the blog today! We hope you’ll decide to stop by again someday, and we wish you much success!!
Thank you so much for having me!
