I like my YA heroes to have bigger problems than not being able to get a date, or forgetting their homework, etc. Yet, the work still needs to acknowledge their limited experience in life – they can be smart, but still make mistakes simply because they haven’t had to deal with this level of crap before.
And a hero’s cape would not go amiss.

I like a lot of fast paced, heart thumping action. Or lots of emotion. Not the whiny drama queen emotion, real emotion.

I definitely like the more action packed YA reads. I enjoy paranormal, dystopian, and anything unusual that will keep me interested. :)

Soemthing unique! I’m finding that most of my books are pretty similar to eachother… hopefully this one will be different!

I’m a sucker for paranormal romances, especially when they involve a love triangle :)

I am not looking for anything specific… more the nebulous… a good read.

I’m looking for compelling characters and a chilling, high-stakes setting.

I’m looking for something Dystopian or paranormal with good characters and a well-written book that I can speed through. Something that is action packed with a bit of romance (not too much) and possibly something different and unusual.

I haven’t been super impressed with a YA book since I finished the Vampire Academy series. Maybe this will change that?

Well, as a 24-year-old male whose guilty pleasure is YA novels, I prefer mine with strongly-realized, fleshed-out characters. I am not big on sappy, romantic fawning over “cute boys” if the main protagonist is a female. And it’s demoralizing that nearly every male written into YA novels happen to be perfect-looking, French models, angelic, etc. @ 15, 16, 17 years old. But I digress. I want an even balance of conflict, action, romance, drama, violence, and heartbreak.
