Chapter-by-Chapter-header---Excerpt

Time. A thing Amy never had enough of, and now it seemed to be slipping even faster through her fingers than water through a sieve. How long ago did she first decide she needed to win this race? Why did she ever think it would be easy? How could she fool herself like that?

She’d forgotten about that strange man who suddenly ran alongside of her during a training round, right after she prayed for her Olympic medal. He’d known about her prayer and had promised her the medal and more. She’d laughed at him and hadn’t believed a word he’s said, but then out of nowhere a door had appeared. She’d stopped right before running through it.

“Your friend Carl is on the other side. I can deliver him back to you too, whole, as if you never crashed the car into that tree. All you have to do is run for me. For me and me alone. Run and you will win your medal. And as a bonus I will allow your Carl to be at your side again,” he’d said.

How could she have refused that? She missed Carl, his jokes, the way he had made her run faster. All she had to do is follow a Keeper when he came for her. Amy knew she sold her soul when she shook hands on it with the stranger, and the stench of sulphur polluted the air surrounding them. All because she wanted that piece of gold to commemorate Carl.

Lucy Pireel is a writer who doesn’t let herself be restricted to any one genre. She loves to write in whatever direction her current story leads her.

When she’s not writing, or reading, she is practicing or teaching yoga, her other passion. Or she could be on a long hike somewhere in the beautiful British nature.

Being an author it is almost a given she has a great love for chocolate and coffee to live on while writing, but she doesn’t shy away from trying to prepare intricate dishes, for cooking is another thing she enjoys.

Hmm, I love to read horror, and I find the creepiest ones to be the unexplained thing in the dark that you don’t find out about till the end of the book. In real life I’d say teenage drivers. And the government. And close minded people. Well, that’s more annoying than scary. I checked this out on amazon and it’s now in my wish list. Will def be checking it out, sounds good. Thanks!

Needles! Something about my skin being pierced–I have the same deathly fear of bees, wasps, and scorpions.
